Ambarish and his family joined the CBR progamme run by Samuha in 2001.

Before this time, Ambarish's parents were aware that he had not started to speak like other children but they didn't understand that this was because of deafness and that there were many things they could do to build effective communication.

Since joining the programme, Ambarish has been given a hearing aid and has started communicating by using body language and some basic sign language. He goes to a government-run inclusive school with other children. He is now in the second standard, and is very active. He loves playing with his schoolmates.

Ambarish’s parents are very hard-working, busy people and do not always have the time to give him the extra attention that he requires. However they are concerned about his future, especially his education. Ambarish is an intelligent child, who participates very happily in the various activities organised by the CBR programme. He loves playing with marbles and indoor games.
