Improving government services

Governments have a duty to ensure that the specific needs of deaf children and young people are addressed. But often deaf children cannot access essential services.

Deaf Child Worldwide works with partners to develop models of excellent and affordable services which governments can then deliver to all children in their country. Hearing screening, effective education, technology and the delivery of appropriate technology and social benefits are all key areas where we aim to make sure governments have the appropriate skills to deliver their promises to deaf children.

Together with our partner, Umang, we are developing a set of educational materials to provide the visual framework for discussion, conversation and reading.

They will be used in schools and community based programmes as well as by the Government of India inclusive education workers.
